HOW TO MAKE THESE DIY PLAY DOUGH TOYS – KIDS

This is a short craft, but it’s a lot of fun!

SUPPLIES REQUIRED TO MAKE THESE PLAYDOUGH TOYS FUN FOR KIDS

  • Outlet Covers
  • Acrylic paint¬†(yes, it will eventually peel off the covers, but painting clean-up is much easier).
  • Paint Pens
  • Giant Googly Eyes
  • Hot Glue Gun

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAKING DIY PLAY DOUGH TOYS

Step 1

  • Use hot glue to attach some outlet covers. If you wish, you can also draw eyelashes.

Step 2

  • Draw a nose using another outlet cover. Draw a simple, big, flat, or silly nose. This can be done with paint pens.

Step 3

  • Draw a mouth using the pens on the third set of outlet covers. These can be painted with acrylic paints.
  • Play dough toys should be durable, versatile, safe for children, and easy to clean.
  • Many of the kid’s favourite toys are too messy to clean up after use. The best thing about this toy is that it melts once it has dried. No more scrubbing!!
  • It is so much fun to see the children take my “plan” and modify or add to it, creating something entirely new. After reading about Allison of No Time for Flashcards’ playdough activity day, we were inspired to make¬†faces.
  • I was determined to draw our covers’ eyes, noses, and ears. But the kids had a better idea. They found the rest of the googly eyes and the hot glue gun. These were glued to the covers. Instead of making human noses, the children made pig noses. As they made their faces, there was much laughter and giggling. They also wore “masks”.
