0000: newborn000: 0-3 months
00: 3-6 months
0: 6-12 months
1: 12-18 months
2: 18-24 months
3: Generally for a 3 year old
4: Generally for a 4 year old
Please note that there is not a standardised sizing system for baby clothing and that this is a rough guide only. As with adult fashion, different designers cut their garments differently and there will be variations in sizing between brands.
However we would like to offer the following suggestions in terms of sizing and hope this helps to guide you in making appropriate selections.

You will note that we stock a lot of clothing in size 6-12 months/size 0. This is because we have found it to be a good size for giving gifts to new babies - it gives them something to grow into and no matter what the size of baby at birth (big or small!) they will be able to wear and enjoy a size 6-12 months/size 0 garment at some stage in their infancy. They will also get more wear out of it than say a size 000/0-3 months which as any new parent knows – a baby grows out of very quickly! Size 0 is also the sort of size that depending on the cut of t-shirt etc. can be worn up until around 18 months old.
For the feet: We list the heel to toe measurement of all shoes/booties etc. This is an external measurement of the shoe or sock and only meant as a guide. A good idea is to check the measurement of the outside of a shoe or sock that your child is currently wearing comfortably and compare it to the measurement we have listed.
